Guest Post: @OnlyInBos Discusses 5 Essential Back to School Apps

We sat down with Boston Twitter heavyweight @OnlyInBos to answer a question that’s always worth asking: What are the hot apps right now? Here are five he suggested to get the semester off to a smooth start.

“What I love about Caviar is that you can get restaurant food delivered to your dorm. From Anna’s Taqueria to Scampo, Caviar has a bunch of dope spots for you to order food from. In addition, they have a ridiculously fast delivery time. I’ve ordered 3 times from them & they delivered my food, on average, in 35 minutes.”

“It’s 2015, meaning you can have alcohol delivered to your apartment. Perfect for when you could really use a beer while getting some studying done.”

“You know you’re going to party in Boston. Tablelist knows where you will have a good time & have a VIP experience. The concierge service can dial in the perfect night for whatever you are looking for.”

“If you frequently use the #MBTA & don’t want to waste time waiting for one, the BostonBusMap app is perfect for you. The app shows you arrival times for MBTA buses & subway trains down to the minute. The app even taps into Hubway & shows how many bikes are available at a particular stop. Getting to class on time is still not guaranteed though.”

“Owe your roommate money for drunken late-night food? Need to split utility bills? Venmo is the best app for you to send money to your friends. It’s super fast to set up, and  straightforward for sending or receiving.”
