Tablelist member Daniel K. sat down with us to talk bottle wars, vodka Red Bulls and Bugattis. Read on.
What's a normal weekend for you?
I'm as frequently in Boston, where I officially live, as I am in New York. San Francisco or Miami or somewhere else. My typical Friday night is getting my friends together in whichever city, and going out. Maybe we'll do dinner, maybe not. If I'm too tired from the week, I'll take a nap. I believe in naps. Scientifically naps are really good for you, they make you smarter and more focused. But I like to catch up with my friends, so I usually go out. It could be 2 of us, it could be 10. There's usually a pregame or bar hopping, then we head to a club. Regardless of what country I'm in, my ideal Friday is being social. I almost never stay in.
Where do you choose to go on a Friday?
I always optimize for quality. Specifically, I am looking for where I am going to have the most fun. If there is a good club with a good night, a famous DJ or a bunch of friends choose that spot, that's where I pick. If instead, a friend is having a birthday party, I'm going where that party is. It isn't so much about the place, but about what night it is.
Favorite country to party in:
Spain. Because Spain has Ibiza. One thing I've realized is when people get to a city or a destination that's branded as a party destination, mentally people change. They're in a much better mood, they just want to have fun. That doesn't happen when you're in your home city- you still worry about what you have to do tomorrow, you're still in your "real life". But when you go to Ibiza, you can leave that real life behind, and you can have fun. Why do you go to Ibiza? You have to fly there, it's an island, it's in Spain... it's not like Vegas where you could be there to gamble, or go to a conference or business. Ibiza is just party.
Out of every club you've been to, which has the hottest bottle girls?
This is really good marketing for any club I mention, so I have to think about it... I would say it has to be Les Caves in Saint Tropez. It's one of the best clubs in the world, where people spend a million dollars in one night- crazy people. In the US, I think both Vegas and New York generally do well. Miami too. The best bottle girls are always there [at your table] to make sure everyone is having fun, and everyone has a drink.
Tell us about your craziest nightlife experience.
It was one of the opening nights at Hakkasan in Vegas. I had a table, and the entire place was booked up. I was drinking and partying and having fun. Then, somebody ordered a big bottle of Dom Perignon as a gift for every table. So imagine all the tables in this giant club, everyone gets a bottle of Dom at the same time. The coolest part was, suddenly everyone was friends. Everyone was cheers-ing with strangers, everyone was so happy. It turned the whole club into a house party, where everyone was so happy to party and dance. It completely changed the dynamic. That was pretty crazy. I loved it.

Drink of Choice?
Vodka Red Bull. If you want to have fun, and you want to drink, but you don't want to have bad consequences the next day, vodka is the smart choice. And then Red Bull to give you energy and keep you going.
What's your go-to bottle for tables?
I love Champagne. Dom's my favorite. It makes the night instantly better.
Have you ever ended up in a "Bottle War"?
Yes. But not a war. If there's a table next to you and they're good people- they're having a lot of fun, you're having a lot of fun- when they order a new bottle, its encouragement to order one again and back and forth. It's not so much a war, but a silent agreement to keep the party going.
What do you like about Tablelist?
Everything! Why do I use Tablelist? Because it's convenient, because it saves a lot of time. I use Tablelist for the same reasons I use Uber or I use the internet- because it makes my life better. The alternative is from the last century- calling around, asking, leaving voice mails. Why do you book your plane tickets online, instead of a travel agent?
What are your other favorite apps?
Uber. Facebook. Kindle. I read everything on Kindle. Oh, and Drizly. It was my colleague that started the company, and I love them. They're amazing.
If you could drive any car, what would it be?
Choosing from real cars, Bugatti Veyron. It's the fastest car in the world. If I can pick a car that doesn't actually exist, I'd love to drive the [Aston Martin V12] Vanquish from Die Another Day. Actually, can I change my answer? I'd love to drive the car from Back to the Future. I want a time traveling DeLorean.
If you could wear any watch, what would it be?
When it comes to accessories, my pick is a G650. I'm more of a planes guy than a watches guy.
